Why you must know Jesus
Why You Must Know Jesus?
Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God and that’s ‘why you must know Jesus’
It’s very important for all human beings to understand who Jesus Christ is in relation to God and their salvation because Jesus Christ matters here on earth and for all eternity. Without Jesus Christ, and any life without a Spiritual belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is a wasted one. How did God formally/officially reveal His Son to be His Son and Messiah to mankind? We serve a God who is very strategic in all He does to achieve a particular eternal purpose, both for His glory and for the benefit of man as well.
The Bible answers that question in Matthew 16:13-20 when the Apostle Peter answered the Lord Jesus Christ when He (Jesus) asked all the disciples the twelve, who the people or the crowds thought or claimed He was.
So, Peter formally established once and for all through an answer that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, to which Jesus Himself replied to Peter that ‘this revelation’ didn’t just occur to him for the sake of revelation but was heavenly in nature, and strategically directed through the help of Holy Spirit from God the Father Himself. In other words, God finally revealed the true identity of His Son to humanity as both the Son of the living God through the Holy Spirit and used Apostle Peter as the conduit to achieve that purpose.
Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[b] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[c] will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[d] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[e] loosed in heaven.”20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
Jesus is knocking at the door of you heart even right now as you read this post, if you haven’t yet opened the door of your heart to Him, do so right now.
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
Jesus Christ will never invade any one’s heart, no, He can only plead with all sinners to let Him come in to their hearts, He is Just and kind, and has given us the gift of ‘free will‘, to make decisions based on our own will, knowing well that whatever decisions we make, will have consequences just like any other decisions we make in life that affect us in different ways in this physical life, Jesus is calling and seeking out your heart, that He may dwell in it through the Holy Spirit, and this is the ONLY time(when you are still alive and on this earth) that He can do so and this is the only time for you to open your heart for Him.
In the book of Isaiah 55:6 ,
Isaiah 55:6 (New King James Version)
6 Seek the LORD while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.
God is warning that there will come a time when He won’t be found and He won’t be reached, He says that if you call on Him now in this life , you can find Him through Jesus Christ, but if you wait until after death, you won’t find Him. He issues such sincere warnings to us because He loves us very much and doesn’t want to see any of us die an everlasting death(an eternal death in Hell).
We see God reaching out to mankind for fellowship, God craves to fellowship with man, for He loves man so much, that He created him in His own image, Genesis 1:27 (New King James Version)
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
He created man in His own image, thus wants to protect His investment ‘so to speak’, He does NOT want to see man perish,or His very own go down the wrong way, for He loves him dearly and very seriously.
It’s this same love that John talks about in John 3:16 (New King James Version)
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Think about that statement, that God loved man so much that He had to give up His own begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die and make a sacrificial atonement for his sin in his place, so that He could be forgiven by God through the shedding of blood, for the Bible says that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin, or forgiveness of sins. Hebrews 9:22 (New King James Version)
22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
After Jesus shed His blood and accomplished the mission that God had sent Him for on the cross, ‘He said it’s finished‘, signifying a total release from the power of sin and spiritual death and giving him(man) freedom to fellowship with God the Almighty through worship and prayer, anytime, anywhere 24/7, 365 days of the year.
Jesus Christ will remain at the door of the sinners heart knocking continuously until it’s opened, and if you reject Him and adamantly refuse to open the door of your heart to Him, you’ll have committed the unpardonable sin, the sin which can NOT and will never be forgiven ( the most serious sin the eyes of God), and that’s the sin of blaspheming God and refusing His Spirit and forgiveness, therefore hurting the person of the Holy Spirit, who was to indwell you, but He(the Holy Spirit) now returns to the Father in vain(without accomplishing His Holy purpose of indwelling you, thus, He feels hurt), thus, the wrath of the father to damn you for rejecting Him. That damnation is done in a place called Hell, which was created for the devil, and not for humans.
Mathew 12:31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
Do NOT reject the free offer of salvation ,God has already paid the full price on your own behalf and for you, freely receive it now, yes, it’s free, take it today and not tomorrow!
There are serious consequences if you do not accept this free offer of salvation that God the Father gives to all mankind and it MUST be received. If you refuse this offer and die, first, you will be denied entry into Heaven after you die, and you don’t want to be denied entry into Heaven because if you are denied, then be prepared for the other side,(HELL) which is the absence of Heaven, and total eternal separation from the presence of the Almighty God, where you will find yourself in one of the most loneliest, isolated and horrible places you’ve ever been to, with a very real and horrible feeling of groping in space while engulfed in the most darkest of blackness of darkness you’ve ever experienced, in unquenchable roaring very hot thirsty red flames,(like live Lava from an erupting volcano) in a feeling like you’ve been tossed off a sixty storied building and never getting to the bottom in the worst record breaking heat and stench your nose has ever smelled, while crying and wailing so loud with no one in sight to help forever, while worms, snakes and demons ravage your body continuously and constantly throwing spears at you, while hating you so bad at the same time,(because that place belongs to them(demons and worms) NOT you) . Jesus described that place as a place of unquenchable fire and where worms are forever present and everlasting. Matthew 3:12 (New King James Version)
12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
Matthew 13:42 (New King James Version)
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 25:41 (New King James Version)
41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
where ‘ Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’
John 15:6 (New King James Version)
6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
Jesus also described that place in a story in Luke 16: 19 about the Rich man and Lazarus
19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell[d] from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’
27 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”
From the story above, you can clearly see the seriousness of Hell, not only being a place of torment but of great regret about the life on earth and squandering the awesome opportunity to repent and receive forgiveness from God through Jesus Christ.
Here’s what Jesus also says will happen to those who refuse to open the doors of their hearts in this life while He remains knocking, He says that He will also refuse (after they die)to open the door to His Kingdom when you need Him most, saying, He did not know you, because while on earth you declined his offer for salvation and His Kingdom and you shut the door of your heart on Him, so this time you will be left out also forever;
Luke 13:25 (New King James Version)
25 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’
27 But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’
The decision to refuse Christ the opportunity to come into your heart and change you and write your name in the book of life, is a very costly one indeed, more than any other you’ve ever made in your entire life(think about that?), you are highly warned and advised NOT to take it lightly, it means eternity, it means everything for you. Jesus is Lord and therefore very important for us all, He is the ONLY one you need to know to take you to God the father;
John 13:3 (New King James Version)
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,
John 14:6 (New King James Version)
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus paid the whole price for your sin fully at the cross by His sacrificial death on Calvary Hill, and therefore there should be no objection or excuse whatsoever for your sin not to be forgiven, this is what he says about judgment;-
John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. 25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.
John 17:33 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

17 The wicked shall be turned into hell,
And all the nations that forget God.
Revelation 20:15 (New King James Version)
15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
